Sauna infusion (Aufguss): Water is poured onto suitable hot sauna stones. The resulting steam and sensation are known in Finnish as löyly.
Sauna fragrance or infusion concentrate: A fragrance specifically made for sauna infusions is diluted in the water according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Sauna oil and essential oil: People often search these terms when looking for scents. However, not every essential oil is suitable for sauna infusions. Explicit manufacturer approval and correct use are essential.
Natural birch leaves: Dried birch leaves can also be used to scent sauna water, creating a lovely connection to Finnish sauna traditions.

For several Emendo sauna infusions, the manufacturer recommends approximately 50 ml of concentrate in 3 litres of water, for example. This ratio does not automatically apply to other products.
For those with fragrance sensitivities or intolerances, an infusion made with plain water is often the more comfortable choice.
Are natural sauna fragrances always better?
Not necessarily. Natural fragrance ingredients can also cause allergic reactions.
Always check each product's ingredients, warnings and instructions for use.
